Random gold roses?

I hope I don’t sound crazy
I have an abundance of black roses
I sometimes water them but other times I don’t.
Whenever it rains, I sometimes come across a gold rose. I do not have a golden watering can but I’m constantly getting random gold spawns? Is this a bug?

Yes! I read somewhere rain has a 5% chance of spawning a gold rose
