Random clothing?

So, I know that the villagers can get random clothing...
It's super weird that two of my villagers now are walking around in maid outfits when even I haven't gotten to buy one yet!
Also, Bruce in a black young-royal shirt is strange lol

Are your villagers mostly adopted from someone else's islands? Because if they are, their clothes are probably from what their previous owners have given them.

We're those previously owned villagers? Otherwise maybe you've helped your villagers for some requests and they've sent presents amongst eachother? Otherwise villagers don't usually come with other clothes besides their defaults, track suit and pajamas

That shouldn't happen if your villagers are original. If you've adopted them from somewhere else, that would explain it though.
