Rafflesias: How many weeds till they spawn?

I got a second copy of AC:NL and started a new town on the 27th or 28th this month and today I logged in to pick it's weeds, water my flowers, talk to my villagers, etc. However, a rafflesia popped up in front of my villagers house, today!

I thought it took a lot of weeds to get those. I searched the entire area and only found three weeds, the daily ones. I don't understand why it's here or how to get rid of it. I take care of my plants and everything! Do seashells or items count towards this? I haven't cleaned up my beaches yet since Re-tail isn't open at the moment, but I thought it was only weeds.

I picked all three weeds, but it still isn't wilting. Does it maybe take a bit to wilt or is it automatic?

I heard watering the plant helps but that just may be a rumor.

It just takes a few weeds in the same area to grow a rafflesia.

I only had two weeds in the area, which doesn't make sense because I've had a lot of weeds in one area in my cycling town and there has never been this problem before. This is barely a week old town and has been maintained. If I have the beauty ordinance will it go away?

Won't make it go away, you still have to pull the weeds. But with the Beautiful Town ordinance, weeds rarely EVER pop up. I have beautiful town ordinance, and I literally pick a weed once every 2 weeks.

I thought Rafflesia spawn by the cleanliness of the town. So even if you have a few weeks, having a ton of stuff on the ground would make them appear.

You said the rafflesia appeared in front of a villager's home. Maybe it's THAT villager that's the problem, could be Benedict or Ava. lol jk. Just try pulling all the weeds and remove all UNNATURAL items on the floor like furniture/clothing/tools. Also, seashells don't count as garbage. To put an end to all this, just enact the "Beautiful Town" ordinance.

This would explain it if true, I had some items on the ground since I'm in the process of cleaning out my lockers for both my towns and giving away things. Thank you! This is my first animal crossing game so I'm not very familiar with things and rely on wiki a lot.

Rafflesias are from having too many weeds in one area. Make sure you check all around the rafflesia to see if there's any weeds. Chances are there's one hiding behind a house or tree. If not, it takes time to go away.

Jacobs Ladders are what grow in your town when you have a perfect town.

It's not the weeds, I'm betting--it's the stuff on the ground. I started my new town about 11 days ago, and I have saplings scattered everywhere (deciding where to plant them). A rafflesia popped up today, boo. The good news is, once you clean up all the stuff on the ground, it'll go away in about a day or two with the Beautiful Town ordinance on, or at least it did in my previous town.

Yea, if you have to much stuff on the ground (items,saplings, seeds) they will count as a weed because they pollute your town. Pick up the items and the Rafflesias goes away. I only ready stuff from wiki, so when I saw weed I never considered items. It went away after I cleaned up my giveaway extras. ^^ I don't think this thread needs anymore attention since the issue was resolved so I don't think we need to keep it going.

I saw my villagers pull weeds. I guess I'll never get a Rafflesia.
