Rafflesia HELPPPPPP

Somehow I got the huge, red, and UN-REMOVEABLE rafflesia flower in the ground. It's absolutely disgusting. I thought it only comes if your town is filled with weeds? I have absolutely no weeds in my town, I have no trash or items on the ground, and I have the beautiful town ordiance so I have no idea why this ugly flower has come up when my town is super clean.

You Should probably look around more and Completely Clean your town, if there's no trash or weeds around it, It'll die off in a few days as it'll grow smaller.

It's because your town is underdeveloped and has reached the worst rating. You need more trees, flowers, and Public Works Projects. It only spawns when you have inadequate greenery and less than three PWPs.

I had one of these meaty little things show up in my cycle town, even though I had no weeds or garbage anywhere. I got rid of it by planting a few more trees around the town (12 to be exact) and it wilted and died within a couple of days. I guess the moral of the story is that your town can have the worst rating possible for a mere lack of trees - weeds and garbage apparently don't matter. -_-

You can, but it then becomes a matter of whether the spot is actually where you would want to construct a PWP anyway. Raising the town rating will get rid of it on its own.

I just started my town yesterday and i got 100% rating today. I immediately cut down all my trees because what i want to do is get all my dreamies and then start decorating and adding my path because i really dont want anyone moving in on my path. Good to note this. I cut down most of, but not all, trees when I started a new town to plant them somewhere else. I think the only reason I didn't get the rafflesia is because I burying some fruit the same day? I wonder how that works. I've always been kind of curious to see one in my town though.


Edit: Just found this on the animal crossing wiki and it confirms that it's because of the lack of trees and pwps:
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Rafflesias have different spawning conditions. A Rafflesia can only spawn in underdeveloped towns and is no statement about the cleanliness of a town. The town has to have less than 3 PWPs (permanent ones count as well) and a low number of trees. Only one Rafflesia can spawn at a time. Against popular belief, weeds, trash, lack of flowers, time travelling, town rating and town ordinance are not involved in the spawning process. Therefor, plucking all weeds and removing all items from the ground will not get rid of a Rafflesia. However, planting more trees and/or building more PWPs will. As soon as these conditions are met, the Rafflesia will appear wilted on the next day and entirely disappear on the next but one day.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the Rafflesia is harder to remove.
However, a Rafflesia can be removed by placing a Public Works Project over it.

That's wild. As long as I've been playing Animal Crossing, I've never heard of this. I didn't even know it was a thing in real life. LOL. Anyway, it looks like you need to clean up your town. Afterward, I'd suggest putting the Beautiful Town Ordinance into effect.

I'm sorry; I came back to this thread again and now I see that you do have a Beautiful Town. (You miss things like that when you post at 4 AM.) It's really strange! Ask Isabelle about citizen satisfaction and see if she offers some advice. Hopefully, it will be something simple, like the residents want more trees and flowers.

When I had a rafflesia in my second town, I had to build a pwp and pull up some weeds in order for it to go away. Clean your town completely, try building something near it and it should go away. After this, I highly suggest you put your town under the beauty ordinance. I hope this helps!

Once you plant some trees it will go away. If you plant too many trees it will reappear. I have 300 perfect fruit trees in my spare town and have one. The other day a lot of trees died while harvesting and it started to die. The next day it was back in a different spot because I replanted trees.

Read that putting a PWP will remove it but it will show up in a different spot.

Omg thats crazy. I've never had that problem but maybe it's because I have 3457438 trees lol. I always thought that big ugly flower only showed up if you had a lot of trash. I had NO idea it was dependent on your number of PWP's and your greenery.

The first time I got one I got one in my WW and it was really annoying and I was too young to think to look it up so pfftt...

I have one im my town right now, but I'm pretty sure it's because someone dropped off their stuff in my town so the game considers it all trash... and since the town is new with only 1 PWP and not the minimum 3... It showed up. I built a house on top of it while plot resetting just to see what would happen but it came back the next day. So don't waste your time trying to build over it, lmao! (also, if the person that I'm holding for see's this, don't worry I don't mind it lol!)
