Raffalsia: WHY?!

Rafflesia shows up when your town is in "poor" condition. We usually see it because of lots of weeds due to time travelling, but I bet having few trees has something to do with it in this case. In the older Animal Crossing games the town rating was very picky about the right number of trees for a perfect town.

I have a cactus on my window sill whose flowers produce a similar rotting smell that attracts flies. I had a pitcher plant next to it that ate the flies

That idea sounds pretty cool though and would make a great horror / story town! I wonder if you can have more than one raffalsia in town naturally without the use of hacking.

I don't know, but I'm going to test it out. I have a spare New Leaf game that's never been opened...well actually it was my cousin's but she never played it. I'm going to do everything wrong so that I can get as many as possible...and then go from there.

And yes, totally! The creepy villagers like Rodeo and Roscoe will be there. Dead perfect trees, wilted flowers, K.K. dirge everywhere, a thunderstorm at midnight, the whole works.

Wilted flowers require a lot of work and replanting everyday, how about only black flowers instead?
