HI ALL !

I would very much like some input on my town... what can I do to improve it ?

You could do so by dreaming Paarl - the address is : 6600 - 4628 - 2156.

Of course, this will cost you time and a little bit of money (500 igb),
so I’ll give a rare (unorderable) item to a random person (will be chosen by number)
who can formulate the correct answer to a specific question…

and
who leaves me a short constructive critique... or posts a picture of him/herself on his/her favorite spot in my town

---> so a question + critique or photo

First poster takes first question, second poster takes second question, fourteenth poster takes fourteenth question and so on…

The "winner" will be contacted personally as soon as ALL questions are answered.

Thanks and have fun !

Q 2: what kind of furniture does the mayor have in the first room of her house?
A: Erm...Gracie!

I like the choice of flowers, golden roses and bamboo stalks. I'm really surprised to see you planting them on the beach. I didn't even know you could do that! The Jacob's Ladders are beautiful. I don't know why you put some fossils near them, but whatever. I trampled a flower or two, but I put them back. Can you forgive me? :(

Your fairytale approach is nice. One of the things I don't like is Booker. I prefer Copper, but whatever. I like how you have a tour approach at the arrows. Except that the Roost is closed 24 hours.

In dream towns, nothing saves. You can take everything but it will still stay the same.
Also, all shops and buildings, like The Roost or Town Hall, will always be closed in dreams.

sorry off topic

euh, I totally don't understand your remark on the fossils (??), there none laying around

and don't worry about the flowers, luckily, dreams of others don't affect the town at all (only imagine !) and yes, all shops are closed (in every town you dream)

I'm not 100% sure what a 'dango' is, but of you want proof that I have visited your town, I'll answer the fourth question: You have gold roses in front of your town hall. As for what I think of your town, I love the cutesy/fairytale theme you have going on. The paths are so cute and perfectly placed! Your layout is also perfect with the central town plaza and Re-Tail and the Town Hall being on the same side of the town. The placement of the villagers' houses is also amazing and most of them are lined up neatly, which I love. :) As for the villagers themselves, you have some of my favourites (Marina, for example). I also notice you have Tangy, who may or may not be the one I gave to you loooooong ago... Also, may I ask you a question? Why are two of your characters called 'Gwijdeke' and 'Liedewij'? :p

sorry off topic

Those Jacobs ladders along the river are near a rock with some fossils.

Oops, I meant to quote Patrice Flanders. Sorry.

I feel like I would have done something life this except its just way too much work for nothing in return. And if I just want to visit your town I'll do that, but I prob won't post on here with critique, bc the quiz questions are a little too in depth. Just my personal input. I think you should do something more light weight next time to get the kind of response you want.

Hehehe Patrice, it sounds interesting. I am off work today and feel like dreaming up a few towns. I will do it for question 3 which I am going to check out right away.

So, I visited Paarl 15-06-2015 and could only see 2 Dangos.

Well Hadie you wanted me to tell you know what I thought of your town. Here is what I thought:

Initial Reaction: My initial reaction when I woke up was, lovely tiling but all I could see was the top of the bush and got disappointed however; this disappointment disappeared the instant I stood up. It turned to FANTASTIC! I usually wake up to trees, etc. and was expecting to see such but your approach was different! Interestingly despite my reaction I never put trees at the bottom of the dream bed in my towns!

A LOVELY TOUCH: This must have been coincidental but as soon as I stood up; Gwijdeke and Fang were standing near the bed. My thoughts were that they appeared to be standing there to welcome me. They presented a picture of an elegantly dressed lady with her tall elegant escort. I spoke to Gwijdeke and then Fang who by the time I finished speaking to Gwiijdeke had moved away from the bed. I was visiting as Floria not Lilly (my usual user name and real life name) but here is what spooked me…

...Nice touch Patrice!

COLOURS: I loved the colour of the tilling and how it ties in so well with the perfect peaches, gold roses and the white of the Jacob’s ladders. I also like the way you have mixed the different flower colours – beautiful.

TOWN LAYOUT, bridges and PWP placements: Wow, one of the best I have come across. There is no abruptness. One thing leads to another. So much thought and planning must have gone into this. I loved, loved, loved the way you placed the topiaries leading off the plaza (my fav area) towards the bridge and across the bridge arriving to a couple of gold roses which nicely tie the Fairy Bridge to the fairy bench and fairy lights together. I get a very fairy tale theme without the pink and frills - just elegance.

I like the bushes surrounding the drinking fountain. Nice touch. I also like how you embrace the permanent stones and not try to disguise them. Stones are usually a pain to most of us (me included) but you have turned them into a feature in their own right.

Suggestions from an impressed visitor’s perspective:

I only had two suggestions and you might have already thought about them but they might be impossible to achieve because of space or number of allowed PWPs.

The water fountain would look better directly aligned with the outdoor chair. I sat in the chair and could see the fountain to the side and it did not tally with the way you have placed other features. It appeared out of line. I am not sure if there is enough space to accommodate it directly behind the outdoor chair. There would be two spaces between the river edge and fountain.
The second suggestion is perhaps placing a small PWP in front of Patrice’s house where the 4 pink Carnations are. That area appeared to be missing something. Something like an illuminated tree might suit that area. I noticed one when you walk slight north-east from the four Carnations.

Liedewij, you said you loved your town. I love your town too.

Overall, wonderful – well done ladies, Patrice, Liedewij, Gwijdeke and Hadie.
