what the fringe is the big deal?

when i unlocked t&t emporium with gracie's boutique, i bought one and didn't think too much about it. "oh look, that lady-gaga-wig-with-a-hair-bow-on-top-thingie's kinda cute!" and i agree, it is pretty and it fits my character but ... i mean... 150k? 300k? 500k? seriously? i just want to ask - why?

One word: Demand.

Just like with bush starts, when lots of people want it, people jack up the price.

of course it is offer and demand (?) i don't know what it's called in english, in german it's "angebot und nachfrage" which basically translates into what i just said so whatever.

i'm not asking from a seller's point of view though - sorry if that hasn't been clear in my original posting. i want to know why people would want to spend up to 500k on a wig. it's ridiculous to me, i'm sorry.

It's "supply and demand". One could ask the same thing about spending upwards of millions for a single villager, or over 10x the price of a tree/bush sapling. Both are merely pixels in a casual game. If one likes it enough to spend such amount, then that's just how it's going to be.

it's fine - thanks for shedding light on the seller's perspective, though :D

SUPPLY! thank you, that was the word i was looking for <3

you're 100% right but i still wonder why it's THAT item that is available in each and every game sooner or later. i go crazy over foreign (american/japanese/korean) food dlcs, for example - simply because they're not available where i live. and because i love food, duh.

Why?
Because people want it and don't want to wait.

that's probably the most accurate and honest explanation for this crazy phenomenon.

You want it, you don't have it but willing to pay, I have it and selling, 500k. so take it or leave.

That's how it work in the market. I even met people charging me 100k for something can be reorder with 1k or less price.
