Okay, I've been planting trees around my town and it's been fine. But, there are certain spots that don't allow me to plan. A day after planting the tree, I find it rotten and dead and I was wondering what's the reasoning behind that.

ALSO, Which native fruit towns have the best sell value for each perfect fruit?

Well I'm not sure about the perfect fruit, but if you plant a tree to close to a river, building or another tree ect they will die. Also some spots are just bad which can be frustrating.

Those spots you're trying to grow things in are 'dead spots'. Nothing will grow in them no matter what you do. I've tried constantly trying to plant a tree in these spots during all three prequels of the game. I learned about these dead spots around 2004 after finally getting my own GameCube version.

As for perfect fruit... That one I'm still learning about.

Ah. So there exists such a thing called dead spots. Okay! Thanks for the info, crossers. In particular to the value of a perfect fruit, I have tons of perfect peaches I'd love to sell. So if you guys do know where...I'd love to stop by and sell!

Here's the best way to make a profit out of your perfect fruit: Maximize your perfect fruit trees (plant as many as possible, try not to get dead spots) and try to sell at another town that doesn't have that native fruit.

To get even DOUBLE those bells, sell them in a town where there's a premium at re-tail. I made millions of bells doing this :) If you're a time traveler, just travel ahead 4 days and gather them again, make sure your friend with the premium is okay with letting you do it multiple times. And beware: talk to your favorite villagers each day if you time travel so they won't move out.

@Isabella:That was way more information than I had expected. Thanks! I really appreciate it. I understand that selling at other retailers can give me the most profit, but I was wondering if there was a specific value for each native fruit, say for example:I sell my peaches at my friend's town(who owns cherries) and I make 3000. But, if I sell it to another friend(who owns apples) I'll make 5000. I'm just wondering if it's anything like that. Also, when you say premium do you mean that on that day it's selling for a lot(sign outside of Re-Tail) or something else...

And I just discovered time traveling on accident today! I only tried it one time though because I didn't want to spoil the fun of the game for myself :c But, yeah I've got tons of peaches to sell !

No problem! Perfect fruit maintain their value of 3,000 bells if native to the town, you also gain an extra 20% of bells if your friend has the bell boom ordinance. And yes, with these two points in mind, if your friends re-tail shop has the bulletin saying that they are paying extra, you'll get double the bells. So 3,000 bells plus 20% doubled.

I'd say once you max out your perfect fruit trees and group everything up at least once then sell, you'll be pretty satisfied with the amount of bells you get. So in that case you wouldn't need to time travel :)

@Isabella: Thanks so much again! I'm glad you're still on to respond. I see you're possibly up still playing as well.

I believe the "dead spots" are different for trees and bushes. I've had spots that couldn't grow trees but then I could grow hibiscus in that same spot. However, I've also found spots that could grow trees but not hibiscus. I find this incredibly frustrating.

I have yet to test more, but i had found once that i could successfully grow a new hibiscus if I plant it on the same place where a previous one died. However it didn't work on a second try over a different place where another died before, maybe it has a success rate or I was doing something wrong.
