So I've done a quick search on here but can't find a definite answer.

Today I got Molly in the campsite and have asked her to move to Celador. I want to plot reset her so that her house goes somewhere sensible, (I'm not too fussed where it there are deffo some places that won't work out!).

Anyhow, I was wondering can someone give me a quick run through of how to do this as I don't want to risk losing Molly. I know I have to make a new character but that's about it. Do I have to do this tomorrow? I don't know how long it takes a villager to put down a plot after being invited from campsite (I've invited in twice before but paid no attention!!)

Thanks in advance! :D

I believe campers will move in on the second day after you've asked them to move in.

First, get to the day the villager is moving in on. If you want to TT, you'll either have to do it through the System Settings, or have one of your existing characters TT to 5:55 AM on the day of the villager moving in, then save and quit.
Now, create a new save file. Don't go to Isabelle just yet. Find the plot. If you don't like where it is, go to the home menu and close the game without saving, then turn it back on and create another save file until you find a good spot. Once you've done that, go to Isabelle, build your house, and get all the stuff done so you can save. Save, quit, and start as the new character again. Go to other things, and delete your house (unless you want to keep the character). You now have an awesome spot for your new neighbor.

Once you've reached the day where the new villager is moving in, DO NOT start with one of your existing characters. This will "lock" the state of the day, meaning that the plot the character chose is set, and you can't change it.

Yeah. After you save with the new character and exit, you can then delete that character without even going in as mayor. Once her plot location is saved, it's saved. Just tell her you need help and demolish. Be extra careful that you selected the extra character! I just usually call my character K and she says, "Are you sure you want to destroy your house, k?"
