Questions Concerning TT and Moving Villagers!

Hello! Please excuse the fact that I'm new here; I just wanted to clarify something! For a bit of quick background, I have a villager who is currently in boxes (naturally, if that matters), and I have a friend who really wants her. That said, she doesn't have a plot ready for her, and she's too busy today so she won't have the time to TT for a plot. She will have time to empty a plot on the weekend though, and I really want to get this villager to her.

My question is: if I have a villager in boxes and I remain on that same day by TTing a few hours back so that I never rollover, is it safe to assume that the villager will stay in boxes indefinitely until someone picks them up or the date changes forward? Or is there something I haven't considered?

as far as i’m concerned, the villager will remain in boxes until 5am (when a new day starts). as long as the clock never hits 5am, you should be good

As long as you stay on that day, the villager will stay in boxes! I've kept multiple villagers in boxes that way
Just be careful, if you advance to the next day, the villager will be gone. Just stay before 5am and you're golden!
