Hi okay so i had a few questions like i mentioned about paths & bushes:

1. I'm planning on having villagers move into certain spots, so if i fill my whole village with pre made spots for them, (while the rest of my village having trees, bushes, PWP's & paths) will they still plot on paths/tree's/bushes/flowers?

2. When planting trees/bushes, i know they cannot be placed next to a permanent object, but does that count diagonally as well? (Sorry it's just because i have some poor placed lakes & a campsite & so i want to plant bushes/trees as close as possible ): )

Example: P = Permanant Object | B = Bush | O = Empty Space

3. Can i plant bushes next to paths & still have them grow, or do i need to remove the paths first?

4. I've read some guides about planting bushes/trees in a row, i know the 12 limit. But is there a technique to plant so i have less chances of them dying. So should i plant trees first, bushes first. OR should i just plant one after another each day?

5. Can you plant bushes right outside the pavement near retail/train station?

Thank you guys in advance for the help!

1. They'll plot on just about anything, but PWP's. If you don't want a villager in a certain spot, put up a cheap PWP to keep them from plotting there. Learned this from experience

2. You can't place them next to something permanent, even diagnally. Basically, you need to be able to WALK between the bush and the permanent object. It's like this so you can't trap player/villagers. Learned this from experience also.

3. Bushes will grow next to paths, trees, mushrooms. You can plant them next to anything you can walk over.

4. I've had luck just planting them all the same time. As long as you keep track of how many your planting in a row, you should be fine. But be careful. You can only have 12 touching. That doesnt necessarily mean that they have to be in a row. Example:

5. Bushes and trees can be planted next to pavement!

Okay thank you so much! :D I can finally start planting my bushes now lol

1; I've had villagers move in 3-4 spots from bushes in my town, and those bushes were always destroyed. It's kind of like having Isabelle tell you that you can't place a pwp in a certain spot until you move 1 inch away, and suddenly it's the perfect spot. I've only had one line of bushes get erased in my town from villagers moving in- but those were considerably near the cliff and just barely enough room for a villager house to fit in near the cliffside.

2; I have tried to place a bush diagonally from the cafe, but it just kept dying. So I have a small space there that looks awkward because the line around the path to there is unfinished. I don't think they can be placed diagonally from pwp's either? Has anyone else tried it?

3; You can definitely place bushes next to paths that are already laid! As long as it has a space of 1 from anything that might be near the path, or diagonally

4; When I was laying new bushes and trees in my village for the first time, I did at least 4-5 of either bushes or trees together. I always did 4-5 a day just to be safe, if they were in the same location. If you plant too many trees/bushes at a time, and around the same location, some of them might die. There's not enough life in the ground to plant a zillion at a time. You can of course plant more anywhere else, if it's far enough that there's not too many in one spot.

Tree stumps, bushes & trees can be planted vertically, horizontally, and diagonally as 12 in a row- as long as there isn't a building diagonally 1 space or something else too close.

And if a bush/tree is planted near a row of 12 bushes/trees/stumps that's already there, it will not grow.

5; You can plant bushes directly next to any stone paving! I have some around my plaza pavement.

You can't place them however directly near the train track fence, a building, the edge of the cliff, or pwp's. There needs to be a space 1 bush/tree would take up if you could actually place it there.

Or say you want bushes/trees near the train track fence like I have:

Anyone can correct me if I got something wrong on this :lemon:

If you don't have 4 characters in your game, you can use the plot resetting trick to place your villagers a bit more conveniently. It's very time consuming to get them into an exact location, but with just a little time you can avoid the really awful "right - in - the - middle - of - my - path" moments! I bet you can find several threads here that explain it better than I can, but read them before you move forward another day:)

There are also people here who are great at looking at your map and giving you pointers and suggestions about placement. I am very bad at it myself, yet I really enjoy reading them.

Good luck!

Aw shucks due to the fact that i am a hoarder/have a shop, i have 4 chars xD I guess i should find some guides about plot resetting. I'll be sure to try & find some people to check out my DA sometime then :) Thank you for the help!

Yes, I'm the same. I could empty a house out on the beach, plot reset and then recreate the character after plot setting... seems pretty painful though! My town is fairly settled now, and there would be more to lose if someone plopped a house at random. So if I ever go down from 10, I'm going to seriously consider it!
