Kind of new to the forum, so apologize if someone already posted similar questions.

We started playing the game in May and really love it, so finally bought a second switch with another hard copy of ACNH so that my son can have his own island to play with (we don’t want him to do certain things on the current one) and we can visit each other and share resources, team up in events, etc.

Because we don’t want to mess up with current island, can we use the same user accounts on the two islands or we should set up new accounts for the second one?

Also any thoughts/experiences on setting up the new island in a different hemisphere?

If the two islands are on different hemispheres, can one participate in another island’s events (bug off, fishing tourney, etc.) as the two hemispheres seem to have different schedule on these events?

Thanks in advance for your input!

1) Same user accounts are fine, though, you can't be signed into to the same account on both systems and visit the other island.

2) My island is in the North, my daughter's in the South. We've had zero issues.

3) Sure can without issue.

Keep in mind your son's account will need to have its own Nintendo Online account so that you can visit him.

1. We're using a different account on every Switch unit that we have. Maybe you can try the family account if you have that to save money.

2. The advantage of having both Northern and Southern hemispheres is that you can get the seasonal items faster, like for example, the Northern could get DiYs from Fall/Autumn or Winter if they visit the Southern hemisphere even if they're still in summer since the other is already in winter season (at this time).

3. Yes, you can participate in both without problems.

We subscribed a family account when my daughter wanted to visit her friend’s island, but didn’t put too much use on that since then :p. Time to utilize it more.

Kind of cool to visit a southern island now. Can’t wait for the console to arrive...
