I think Grass wear is something ALL Animal Crossing players can agree on. It sucks! I know if you place a Public Works/house or frequently run around on a spot, the grass goes away. But if you remove them then the grass grows back slowly. But I have a few questions.

1. When you start the town there are many patches of dirt all over the place. Can I get grass to grow in these areas? If so, how?

2. Can I get grass to grow back quicker? I heard you can plant flowers or trees to make it grow faster but I need confirmation.

3. why does grass wear exist in the first place

Plant flowers on them. Water the flowers everyday. Avoid walking on them. TTing helps too.(I SOUND LIKE LYLE)

YES, by TTing.

3. why does grass wear exist in the first place
BECAUSE THE CREATORS PROGRAMMED IT IN! lel I dun know

1. I don't think you can, but I am not too sure about this.
Actuall, yeah, you can, it is just really hard.
Actually, I guess not...
I don't know! (ToT)

2. Yes, this works.

3. Because it exists in real life. To be a life simulator, it has to exist somewhat, no?

The dirt you start off with is permanent.
Time traveling a month at a time makes it grow a lot faster. There may be a guide to it somewhere.
Grass wear may exist to create paths and make towns more unique. I had dirt paths, but they... uh... kinda got covered with snow.
I don't hate grass wear. I try to make the most out of it.

Some dirt patches can't be recovered, they are part of the town.

Cover a dirt patch with flowers and water them daily. With some help of rain or snow the patch should start showing signs of recovery after about 7 days, if you don't keep walking over it. It depends on how bad the spot is. If it has been used a lot it'll take longer to recover.

You don't have to change your time in order to recover your grass. Due to the heavy snowfall the grass beneath my paths already started regrowing, and I run over them a lot.

Uh, I don't TT unless I want to flush a villager into the void. Is there any non cheating means to get it to grow back quicker?

No, it will take an average amount of time... months.

I think

During New Year I created several new villagers to obtain more celebration items. They all build their tent in the same spot. The next day I covered it with flowers and watered them. Along with some snowfall the dirt started to disappear after 7 days and now it's all covered with snow again.

Unfortunately, since I used to run around my town before I learned about grass wear, the biggest patches are around my bridges, so I jog on them daily. :( But I'm gonna try planting flowers around those...

Snow supergrows the grass. I had a spot that was dirt for months and the snow started growing it back. Then I walked on it and undid the help. Then it snowed and I stayed off it and it grew back quick. Rain helps, too. Dry seasons, you're out of luck (except plant flowers, water them, stay off, etc.).

I've covered all of the original spots of dirt in my town with flowers, and some of them really do appear to be growing back, very slowly. Things seem to have picked up since I got the silver watering can, for whatever reason. Maybe I'm delusional.
