Say you have a second character, and you start your game with that one and see that an animal is getting ready to move in where your beautiful garden is and ruined all your flowers...is there a way to get that to not happen? I heard there is if you don't start the game with the mayor but...how do you keep it from happening?

Does this question make sense? lol It's kinda late and I'm kinda tired. lol

It has to be a brand new character. You have to do the train ride with Rover. You would start up with a third character and look for the plot location. If you like it, you would go through the process of putting down a house and saving. If you didn't, you would hit the Home button and close down, and go in as a new third character.

This will NOT work if you loaded up during the day as the mayor or existing secondary character. That will lock the plot in place. You have to make sure the first time you go in after 6am is as a new character.

You actually need to make a new character, I believe; least that's how I learned.

Then you login to the new character, find the plot.
If you hate it you close the game through the DS HOME screen and restart with a new character again.
If you like it, you save the game by getting the new character a house to enable saving by registering with Isabelle.

to keep it from happening you can build public works projects in areas where you don't want them to move. this can be very useful.
