Hello people!

I have a question regarding plot resetting. I did plot resetting before and it mostly always worked fine. But today after 150+ tries I can't get a villager to live where I want her to live. I moved a villager out and the new villager keeps taking that spot instead of one of the other two free spots I made. So the question is, are my other two free plots to close to something? Or am I just having a really bad luck spell and should I keep resetting till she moves there. I added pictures of the plots.

This is the plot where my villager which left lived and my new one keeps building her house:

This is the spot I would actually prefer my new villager to move to, but so far it never happened, is this plot to small or to close to the house above it?

This is an alternative 3rd spot I left open, but also this spot keeps being ignored:

So are the plots I made wrong or to close to something? Or should I just keep resetting and do I just have a case of really bad luck?

Thanks in advance!

You need 3 spaces in between houses vertically. So in the second picture, try to move the plot down one more space. That should work.

I'm not sure about the 3rd, but probably the plot is still close to the plaza so try to move it down a bit as well?

Okay, thanks a lot! I will try that. How much spaces do I need to keep free between edges/water etc is it one? or two as well? Also how about the horizontal space between house plots is it two?

Only 1 space on the sides and back of the house if near a river or cliff but you'll need 2 spaces in front. Welcome!

With 2 spaces infront, for example with a cliff or an edge or river, does the entrance/door of a house count as an empty space? or is it --empty space, empty space, entrance/door-- (so basically 3 before the actual 3x3 plot)

From the edge of the cliff in front, you need 1 empty space, then the space in front of the door (where the black roses are) at minimum. Taken from one of my old screenshots :)

Ok, thanks again!, It worked :D. One last question (yes i'm annoying, sorry) but what about diagonal distances between houses when plot resetting, or easier said is 5x5 the size to keep between houses? for example (x = patterns and o = the house plot, ignore the - cause else the forum wouldnt let me post it this way :p):

xxxxx
xooox
xooox
xxoxx
-------xxxxx
-------xooox
-------xooox
-------xooox
-------xxoxx

would this work, or are they to close together? (I messed up so many times and so far everything has gone perfect, i'm just not sure about this one, cause its an actual setup i made)

I'm going to assume that you probably just overlooked putting 3 o's in the first plot so it's supposed to like this:

xxxxx
xooox
xooox
xooox
xxoxx
-------xxxxx
-------xooox
-------xooox

Tbh, I'm not 101% sure because I haven't run into this myself but I think it would still work because if you go by the rule of houses having one space in each sides, you'll most likely need 1 space diagonally in front of the first plot (plot on the upper side) so assuming...

I replaced - with J to emphasize the space. The second plot pretty much have spaces (x's) on each sides (left, back and diagonal) so no problem with that.

And yes, the plot itself is 3x3, but the whole area is 5x5 including the plot and spaces that you need for one villager house.

No problem! Good luck plot resetting :)

thanks for asking this, im trying to learn about 'plot resetting' and trying to figure out why my own villagers are crowding themselves @ the top half of my town rather than joining the only 2 house @ the bottom where there is more than plenty of space lol.. now ii can figure out why theyre being stubborn and not moving where ii want them to be
