This will be ridiculously long I'm sure, so please bear with me! I'm not sure if anyone has attempted this before, but I'm hoping somebody knows the answer for me.

I have a town that I have since abandoned that contains a few villagers that I don't want to move. When I first logged on to it, I went back to early October 2013, since that was when I stopped playing (pokemon, anyone?) and I was told it would ensure none of my villagers would move. It did the trick and they were all there.

However- now that it is stuck in November and I keep losing track of the dates I last logged on, I'm wondering if I can somehow skip all the way forward and not lose anyone.

So... similar to how plot resetting can be used to see where someone is moving in at, is it possible to TT forward and see who has moved away? I feel like I saw that somewhere, but now I can't remember where...

If not, then once I get a villager to agree to moving, can I TT forward to this September and only lose that villager?

Thanks guys! (:

If you tt forward with the 3ds clock like a month or year or so, then make a new character and check around, you will be able to tell who is moving, go back to the previous date you were on, and be able to stop them. Once you've stopped them, you can then move forward to the date you want to be on, and no one will be gone.

Thanks for your reply!! (:

I have two towns on the same DS. The one that's stuck back in time is a cartridge game while my other town (main town/present-day) is a digital one. Will doing that affect my digital town?

I think doing the above will affect your digital town.

If it was me. I would save on a day that I told a villager to stay and TT forward to present time then. I've done this before. Not for the same length of time you are traveling but still..

I have left towns for 5 months before and not had anyone move by saving on a day I told a villager to stay.
You will need to talk to everyone again once you start up. Someone will definitely want to move when you load up.

Okay! Thank you!

Erik- the main one I wanted to keep- just requested to move today. I'll be sad if I lost Nana or Chief, but I feel like it's safe enough to take that risk since I just denied Erik his chance at freedom. :p

Whee! All done.

Okay- just in case anyone stumbles across this and is in a similar situation, denying a villager's move-out request and then fast-forwarding (even 10 months) is a good route to take. No villagers moved out in the TT'ing, although I did have a request after I started up.

So yep. It's safe to do this. (:
