question on villagers?

Someone told me that depending on the personality of a villager moving out,thats the personality of a vilager that moves in, is this true?
(For example, if A Uchi villager leaves my town, will another Uchi villager take its place?)

I've actually heard that it's the opposite. A villager moving in will never have the personality type of the one who just moved out.

I'm not sure either! But it makes sense for the game to generate different personalities to keep things fresh.

It makes sense, the game trying to keep a constant change of villagers... though today was the first day I ever had a cranky villager and that was only because I got him from someone elses town while he was boxed up

The last villager to move out of my town was a Lazy type, and a Normal villager replaced him (she's the only normal one atm so idk if the game picked up on that or not).

For all we know, it could be completely random.

I got goldie right after Gala moved out, so it might be completly random>^<

In City Folk, if you only had one of a particular personality and that one moved out, you'd get a replacement with the same exact personality.

I'm sure it works the same way in New Leaf unless you use the campsite or take villagers from friends' towns.
