Question on villager placement

I'm trying to put a villager in a specific spot, and it's wide open and completely clear of anything that would block a house, but I've reset over 50 times and she keeps trying to place herself in the same 5 or 6 spots in my town. Should I be giving up? Are there some spots in town that despite being open and available, villagers wont move to?

I know it seems that way, but no eventually they will go to the spot you want it just takes time.... I have a little strip of land between the train tracks and waterfall that I wanted Molly to move into, it took like 3 hours of plot resetting but she finally went there! Next time try blocking those 5-6 spots with PWPs, yellow benches are super cheap and do the job nicely! I did that in my town several times over...

I've spent a full 24 hours plot resetting before too... (but like I worked a double and lived my life in the meantime lol) so if does take a lot of time or you want breaks even when you cross over to 6am the next, next day you can continue plot resetting

Try to switch off your 3DS and try again. I've heard that that makes it easier to change up the spots you get if a villager is only plotted in the same ones over and over.
