Question of TT and Villager Trade

If you tell a villager to move to your town while they're in boxes (and you leave by train, the exchange was successful) is it safe to TT?

I'm assuming that you'll be TTing to the day of their move-in? That should be fine. I TTed ahead after adopting a villager, and there was a confusion between my in-game clock and my 3DS clock, and I ended up traveling a month ahead directly after getting back to my town from adopting a villager, though I meant to travel forward a day.

Even then, there weren't any problems. I just made sure to check with a new character first and my new villager's plot was there waiting for me.
