I'm wondering if other villagers can move out while I'm plot resetting a new move-in?

I have heard people here say that it took them weeks to plot reset for that perfect spot. I'm on day 3 for Merengue (I haven't had a ton of time to play unfortunately), and just want to make sure that none of my other villagers will move out. Normally it doesn't take me this long but the spot I want her in is one of those that villagers rarely go to in my town for some reason. And she's my tenth villager so I'm being more particular than usual because she is literally the finishing touch to my town. ;-;

Great, thanks!

Merengue doesn't even plot anywhere near where I want her, so it wouldn't surprise me if this takes weeks. ;l

It sounds like you're progressing too far, assuming you're time traveling. Plot resetting should only take a couple hours of actual time. And if I'm not mistaken, villagers must move in by the fourth or so day. (Supposing you asked them to move in from another town or campsite).
So all you need to do is reset the day that she is bound to move in.

But you should be fine. No one can move out while someone's moving in. :)

?

As I've said, I've already been resetting for three days. Not TT'ing.

You only get a different villager if it's a random move in.

If your supposed to get them then move them to wherever you want!

There are also YouTube channels on this topic and the Internet (Thank you, Google!) Has lots of methods for you!

Hope it helped! And good luck with everything.

(I just use plot reset to get my dreamies!)

Sorry, I misunderstood. That's some hardcore Plot-Resetting though. I usually gave up after 3 hours, haha
Good Luck!

ALSO: FYI When you plot reset, your just adding a new second character, then you just run around and find the spot of the plot, and hitting power if it isn't good. Then you make a second new player, search,hit power if it's not good, repeat until to your satisfaction. There is no time travel involved and nobody will move!

It's that simple.

@Duzzel; Ah now I get what you were thinking of, plot resetting for a villager. Sorry if I was confusing, haha.

And now you guys are confusing me, haha. Let me elaborate. c;

I ask Merengue to move in from another town, on the 11th (my town is not the current date, fyi). I boot up on the 12th, with a new character, and keep doing so to get her to plot where I want. She doesn't, so I try again the next day. On and on, now it is the 15th in-game. I was told I can basically do this indefinitely, and so far I have been able to.

My question was, if it ends up being two weeks later she finally goes where I want and I save, will I find that someone has moved out? But since villagers can't move out while a villager is moving in, I'm being led to believe that no, they will not move out.

So, my question has been answered, but I just want to clarify, haha. Because I'm not sure why some of you are telling me to stay on the same day. Should I be changing the 3DS clock back to stay on the same day, and if so, why? It seems to me it is unnecessary as long as nobody can move out anyways.

I don't think so. It will just start a new day each time you restart a second player. Once you find it, you must build a house, therefore saving your progress I think. Then just destroy the house and she stays forever!

They wont move put so no need to turn the 3DS clock back don't worry :3 I've personally been plot resetting for Ankha for ages :( 380th try

Oh, haha, you're good.

Your technique is fine. You don't have to stay on the same day, but after the 3rd or 4th day of asking them to move in, there should always be a plot down. So even if you decide to keep plot resetting for 2 weeks, you'll be fine.
If it's this long after you asked Merengue to move in, you should be able to start a new file every time and a plot should be placed down.
And you are correct, no one can move out while someone's moving in.

You got this. Just do ya thang. ;)

Great, thank you so much everyone! c:

And good to hear from someone who is going through the same thing ardrey! I haven't been keeping track but I'd guess that that's about where I am too. ;-; I wish you luck!
