Question for animal crossing new horizons

Do you need hardwood trees? Can I cut down all my hardwood trees and have only fruit trees and others? I know you get bells and items from hardwood trees, but can you get those from fruit trees also? Thanks!

You need the hardwood trees to get acorns for crafting the fall items. Not 100% sure since I haven’t shaken trees in a while but I don’t think you get items from fruit trees.

you can get acorns from fruit trees, but not bells or furniture

I feel like hardwood trees are only important for acorns and the aesthetic of cherry blossoms for that short time in the spring.
