Question about visiting myself (two islands)

So I have two switches and two physical copies of the game. My lite is my main switch/main island and my AC switch is my second. I use the same account for both. I can visit Ac switch me ----> lite me but my lite me cant visit my ac switch me. I use local. Do I need another account on the ac switch? And if that's the case would I visit online or local? I have the online family subscription.

That’s odd...I’m in the same boat as you (main island on lite, shared island on big switch), but I’ve always been able to travel between both islands two-ways via local (they don’t allow it online). What error does it give you when you try to travel?

A communication error. I tried to screenshot the error and for the first time it let me. Then I ended session, tried again and I got the error. I don't know why it finally worked....then broke again.

I’m not exactly sure what’s going wrong in your situation. I don’t know why it would allow one way to go through but not the other.

I have the same setup you have and I've never had a problem visiting my Switch/second island from my Switch Lite,Main Switch/main island.The only things I can think of are that my second island is a digital copy( but I don't think that would make a difference), maybe the local wifi on one of your Switches isn't working correctly or one of your Switches has airplane mode turned on.I would have some occasional problems connecting locally with New Leaf but I haven't had any with New Horizons.Do you have any other devices that might be causing some kind of interference?

I get this error too whenever I visit my sister's island through local wireless! She has a lite and I have the regular. It's really annoying. I usually shut off my game and restart my system and it'll work but it'll screw up again at some point so it isn't a total fix but at least is temporary for the time.

Yea, the copy of AC on the shared switch is digital whereas the copy on my lite is physical. I’m not sure why that would allow two-way travel while any other combination would cause errors...

OP, at any point did you have a digital copy of the game that you shared between both systems? If that's the case, then you'll have to delete the digital copy of the game from the system (don't delete the game save), then the next time you fire up the system with the cartridge installed, it'll play off the cartridge, and not the digital copy of the game. I imagine this will fix your problem.

I mentioned this because I originally had one digital copy loaded on two systems. I got annoyed that I couldn't play on my second system without being connected to the Internet. I went out and bought a physical copy, but still had an issue where it had to verify my purchase every time I turned it on. Once I deleted the digital copy of the game (again, not the save) from my system, it played off the cartridge, and all was well.
