question about visiting/hosting visitors

Hi I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask questions, if not I’m sorry. I haven’t played new leaf in a long time but I want to start a shop in Retail to make some tbt. A shop obviously requires you to visit/or allow someone to visit your town, my question is do you need to register their friend code to do so online? I’ve had visitors before but im asking bc i forgot since I haven’t played in a long time.

yes, you’ll need to register each other’s friend codes in order to visit them/have them visit you.
