I checked the sticky post beforehand, but I still have one question: how I get a villager from the camping site to move in? I have less than 10, should I just talk to them? Whenever I talk to them, they just offer me to have the buying mini-game. Or is it completely random?

Random/stubborn. Keep talking with the camper. They'll either move in with ease via desire to, or you'll have to win a game against them.

You may also be able to narrow down what prompts you get depending on what's in your inventory (no bells, no items). I'm not sure what exactly the prompt is that causes them to move.

Yep, just keep talking to them. If you have less than 10 villagers, eventually they will suggest moving in. I had one villager (Annalisa) move in easily after only talking to her a few times and one villager (Sterling) seemed to take forever. He kept suggesting to move and then changing his mind, but eventually he agreed to come live in my town. It takes persistence sometimes.

Thank you! I think it worked, I'll need to wait until tomorrow (or tinker with my clock) to see.
The camper proposed a rock-paper-scissors in exchange for my shovel after being stubborn 2 times, and I won.

Edit: They didn't

If there's any other camper in town, please don't make the same mistake as I did. Don't give up if they say they want to stick to their own town, keep talking to them, and they'll eventually agree to move in.

I'm sorry you didn't get your camper to move in. Hopefully, you'll get another shot at them later.

If they're going to move in, they will tell you, so you have to keep trying until you get that dialog. Even then, they will sometimes change their minds or expect you to win a game so you may have to keep at it.

I just thought I would add that I have experienced instances where campers take several days to actually move to my town. I think Tipper ended up taking 3 days, but that was years ago so I don't remember clearly.

Yeah, if they didn't specifically tell you they were moving, then they unfortunately will not be moving to your town. Sorry if that's the case.
