Question About Villagers

So, I'm going to have to take about a month's hiatus from the game here pretty soon. The problem is, I want to keep all the current villagers that I have, but I'm afraid they'll move away while I'm gone. Is there any way to prevent this? I remember reading somewhere that if you stop a villager from moving, save and exit the game, then go on your hiatus, no one will move away while you're gone. But is that 100 percent true?
