Question about villager moving in...

I just built plots for my 7-8 villager, without realise that I can invite only 1 villager from nook island per day. Does it mean that I will have my 8th villager randomly move in tomorrow

They don't necessarily move in the following day. It could take days/a week for them to occupy the plot.

I certainly hope that it's the case for me. I put down my 8th plot expecting to find someone in the island. I want my 7th to 10th villager all my personal choices and not anyone random.
