Can I chop down the banana trees on the south end of my Island and then replant them further up closer to the grass to make bug catching easier? Or if I chop them down am I just not going to get them to grow again? Thanks in advance for your help.
You can landscape your island as much as you want - get flowers, bananas/coconuts & island fruits from the tours.
You can have a mix of palms.
You can cut down your centre trees - if you do that then you can replant any island fruit but you won't be able to replant saplings (bugs go on both fruit/ordinary trees, so doesn't matter).
You can plant hibiscus bushes if they come up for sale in the shop.
You can bring hybrids from your town by wearing them in your hair or mouth (rose).
If you get a silver axe come up for sale on the island (it does appear on your own island, tho rare) - you can cut a centre tree down to get a stump with a special pattern.
A lot of players do take out all flowers, centre trees & bottom palms (leaving the side ones) for bug farming.
I left in one centre tree & lots of flowers as I wanted butterflies.
