Question about Time Traveling!

So I've been holding a Villager for a friend. And after time traveling she has decided to move and is in boxes.
WELL the problem is that my friend won't be able to pick the villager up right now, because they don't have the room for them right now.
It's currently 10pm and my friend doesn't know that the villager is in boxes and I have no way of contacting her to tell her atm.
So here's the question.
If I time travel IN GAME (not DS) and change the TIME, just the time not the date, to an earlier time, Will the villager still be there in boxes?
I didn't know if it would change it to a new day or not if i just changed the time.​

as long as you stay on the same day and don't tt to before 6:00 am, the villager will stay in boxes. you can hold them forever in boxes that way.

I would recommend changing the 3DS time back to the morning of the same day before it reaches 6am the next day. Do it over and over and stay on the same day till your friend can pick the villager up. (Make sure the game time and 3DS time are the same before doing it to avoid any confusion.)
Just changing the time and never leaving the same day will keep the villager in boxes.

Kinda can't mess with the DS time atm... DS time is in September and Game time is in August. (I was TTing using the DS time before i learned how to do it in Game and now it will be a while before i can fix it)

After 6am. 6am exact is when the game changes over to another day. Time travel using the in game clock.
