Hello

I sometimes see threads in the Villager Trading subsection of the board where people, after being unsuccessful in selling or giving away a villager, they said it's voided.

Should it be understood as a definitive loss of that villager? I thought that, as long as one had wified/streetpassed someone between the current mover (the one the person is offering) and the last one, that one would be still available for the next meeting one has. However, some interactions and wording suggest it's impossible to retrieve voided villagers.

So, what does it mean to say a villager is voided?

It just means that no one cam and claimed them for their town town, so they were 'voided' aka, the game booted them out. Its not really a real place, just something made up to describe where villagers go if they didn't move to another town.

The streetpass villager pool is kind of strange, it really is completely random which villagers will move into a streetpassed town or not.

That really depends on the game. Sometimes a villager that just moved out of your town that has been 'voided' can show up in someone else's even months after they initially moved out. If you have space in your town for another villager and someone visits you that had someone just move out, there is a possibility they will move into your town. Again, not 100% certain, but there is a possibility.
