I asked a neighbor from my friend's town to move to mine and he set up a signboard already. Am I able to reset until he moves to a location I want or will he end up disappearing? Does anyone know?

If you made a new character to see the signpost/plot, then you can still reset to have it move. Since this is a villager you asked to move in, there is no danger of him not moving in if you reset, so resetting will only (possibly) move the plot. But again, this is if you made a new character to check, which I assume you did since you're aware of the reset trick in the first place; otherwise, the plot is already set to be where it is. x.x

If you're already on your mayor and his sign is up then it's too late

Phew that's a relief. Yes, I made a new character to check. Thank you so much for your help guys!
