So Ribbot is moving in today. I've been doing the reset trick to make sure his plot of land is in a good location but I must have done at least 20+ resets already and his locations all suck. :( All the other times I've done the trick for other villagers, the villager has moved to my desired location eventually, usually within 10 resets. Ribbot is giving me problems, though. He keeps picking the world's worst locations. :(

My question is if any of you have done the reset trick, how long does it usually take you until you've got the plot where you want it?

Lol I spent 5+ hours trying to get Chrissy into a decent spot and she kept moving into the worst spots ever 20 times in a row (I counted). Long story short I wanted to kill her and questioned why she was a dreamie... ( u n u ) I ended up getting her into an okay spot eventually. It wasn't super ideal because I was just so tired and frustrated.

Ahhh okay...so this common. I guess I've been lucky with my previous villagers and that luck has finally run out. WELL I guess I got a long night of resets ahead of me. >:|

I'm not even that picky. He's got so many options. >:| But nope, Ribbot just wants to plant his house on my roses.

You're not alone. I had to do this with Filbert. And Kid Cat as well I believe.

Yes, it's happened to me with most of my villagers. I've done the reset trick a lot, and they're not in the PERFECT location, but it will do.

The last two days I've been doing the reset trick for a random move in (I had 8 villagers). Almost every time they all picked really bad spots. I was looking for one of my dreamies, I finally got one after about 50 resets or so (it was Wendy) but she put her house in the worst spot ever! She put it directly in front of my town hall right in the middle of my paths! I was so angry! I regretfully reset (due to the fact that I likely wouldn't get Wendy again). Thankfully I got super lucky with my reset directly after the Wendy issue, Diana plopped her house down still in front of my town hall but this time directly beside my paths. So I managed to get Diana at least an nobody else should try to plop their house in front of my town hall again as there is no longer any room thankfully! I'm still a bit upset about Wendy though! She is probably my all time favourite!

Oh no, that's such a shame, Wendy is a real cutie pie :c

I usually reset for 2-3 hours. If by that time, a villager still doesn't move where I want them to, I give up and let them stay anywhere that isn't a total disaster area -__-

AFTER A FEW HOURS AND ALMOST 50+ RESETS, I can safely say that Ribbot has finally found an acceptable location.

I almost cried out of joy. T___T So much work...

After hearing about how many resets it takes to get them in a good spot, I'm really gonna hate tomorrow. I have to do the reset trick for Whitney :(. I'm not gonna be picky, as long as she doesn't kill a bunch of plants and obstruct a street, it's good.
