So I've gotten into TTing villagers out recently (since I never really moved villagers out when I played before) and have now been seeing my ex-villagers wandering around main street and I would please like to know if a mayor from a different town came to visit my town, would they be able to get one of these wandering ex-villagers to move into their town? Thankyou.

They can, yes. Those are considered your voided villagers. Though, I have no idea how long it takes for them to move to that town, or if they will. From what I've noticed it's completely random. They will go if they have nine villagers or less, I believe.

I don't think the villagers walking around the main street can be adopted by others, especially not if another mayor comes to talk to them :/ That's not how the void works. xD

I can't explain every single details, because I don't know everything about the void and I don't to say things that are not true, but I'm 99.9% sure the villagers in the main street can't be adopted.

Oh shucks, that changes things, I don't know what's right! q.q I've not much clue on the whole void thing, I just thought it'd be nice if they could be adopted... Thanks anyways!

Yeah, I forgot to mention, as pixr said, they cannot be adopted, but still can make their way into someone's town who visited you, etc.

A rule of the void is that only the last three villagers thaf moved out of your town can appear in someone's town. But, in the main street, you actually get to see the last 16 villagers that moved out of your town. :/ That means that only a small part of them could potentially appear in someone's town.

Ah okay. I knew it had something to do with your villager cycle, and if they still were on your mainstreet, you couldn't get them again until after the fact in the same time, thanks for clarifying. ~

And I'm happy we could help. Welcome to the forum. (:

Actually, old villagers will only show up on main street after a certain number of villagers (I think 5-8) have moved out after them - so this combined with your first point means main street villagers are definitely not in your void and cannot be passed on to another town

(Also, and this is just a side note, all past villagers, not just voided ones, can and will show up on main street)

It's usually only the most recently voided villager that can be passed on to someone else. And even then there is no way to guarantee it since you can't actually ask them to move. The above poster is correct, I usually see a villager show up in mainstreet after 8 cycles.
