Question about the campground and having 10 villagers

I want to replace of one of my villagers, I currently have 10 and a friend of mine has a villager moving out soon as well.
So basically we want to switch villagers on the same day they are boxed together in both our towns.
Do those villagers move into the campsite the next day? Or do they just swap houses so to speak when the next day starts?

I may be wrong, but I don't think either of you can take the villager under those circumstances. If your villager is in boxes, you don't have an open plot and when you talk to their animal, they won't offer to move, and vice versa.

I'm pretty sure Ras is right. When a villager is in boxes, it doesn't count as an open plot yet. You have to wait until the day after that, when their house is gone, to be able to invite a new villager.
