Question about the bridge

Just got animal crossing today and chosed a really nice town but the bridge that i started off with is in a really weird spot. This makes me wonder can you can remove it once you have built a second bridge? or does the first bridge that every town start off with remains untouched? Thanks

Once you are able to have a bridge build then you can have it demolished.
