Question about scanning a villager to move another out

So, One villager moved into a very unfortunate spot for a place I missed laying out paths to prevent them from moving there.
I tried scanning a villager of mine to see if that would force them out and it did, But they put their house in the exact same spot as them.

Will any villager I scan continue to move into the same spot as the previous villager?

I'm been talking to them,doing their requests for fruit and delieveries,I even tried ignoring them but they are the one villager that will not ping me to move and I don't know what to do. I really need them out of that spot

I'm pretty sure they can move to another spot if you're lucky.

It's likely they will move into the same spot. It's happened a lot from my experience. I suggest plot resetting just to be safe.

I've bumped out several villagers with Amiibo card villagers and sometimes they take the spot of the departing villager but most of the time they don't.They move in just like a regular non-Amiibo villager.I always plot reset and lay down path tiles in areas I don't want a villager's house to be and I've never had a problem getting an Amiibo card villager to move to where I want them.

I'd definitely do the plot reset method so that you can be sure they don't move where you don't want them.

They can switch spots, but they don't always.
