I had a couple copies of ACNL and decided to turn one into a reset town. There's currently a villager in the town on my reset game that I want. Are there specific things you need to do before villagers will ask to move out? I've been doing the 2 day TT trick for 40 minutes and so far nobody has pinged me. In the game I'm at the point where Isabelle said I need to bring my rating up to 100. I just wanted some info from someone who has done this before as to what is the fastest way to get villagers to move. I currently have 9 villagers in the town.

Since you have 9 villagers, you will definitely be getting a ping for somebody to move out. Just keep moving forward a day and waiting to be pinged. Now I'd do it one day at a time, just in case you load the game on a day and Isabelle tells you somebody is moving out the next day... meaning they're in boxes now! But you don't have to actually DO anything to get them to want to move. But it can take up to five days from the time somebody last moved in before anybody else thinks about moving. Just keep trying.
