Question About PWPs

I know you have to have like 10 PWPs in your town to get a perfect town, but do the shops on main street count too? Like the dream suite, second floor of museum, club LOL, etc?

No the shops on the main street do not count and in your town some pwp's have a negative effect on reaching a perfect town (I think items suggested by uchis or snooty villagers, not sure though).

a garbage can for example will have a negative effect making it so that more than 10 pwp's are needed

Ohh okay, so if you were to get a garbage can would you need 11 PWPs instead?

If it helps, I just achieved a perfect town a week or so ago. Other than the main street upgrades, I had the cafe, the modern police station, two wood benches, the campsite, a fountain, and my three cobblestone bridges. Only nine PWPs, but they had enough points to get me a perfect town. Plus, a bunch of trees, and more flowers than I can count.

Shops on Main Street don't count.

Some specific PWPs will contribute to your Perfect Town rating as well.
PWPs that reflect nature (such as fountain, benches, flowerbed, windmill etc.) are more effective than other PWPs like the garbage can, illuminated projects and construction projects...
