So, I heard about plot resetting a few months ago and I've watched a few videos about it. The thing is, it never works. If I understand right, the day that you will find a plot you have to make a new character then look for the plot etc. But how can you plot reset if you time travel? Example: im getting stitches tomorrow but i wanna time travel so ill get him earlier but ihave to talk to isabelle to change the date but if i talk to her she will set my town up so i can't remove the plot anymore, get it? So my question is can you plot reset if you time travel?
You have the move your ds clock forward otherwise there's no possible way for it to work ^^
I time travel but when Ive adopted someone, I move my ds clock forward, load up my game and create a new character.
It's simple once you get used to it.
Unless you'd rather wait a day so you can plot reset without messing it up with time travel x]
Hope I've helped ^^
You time travel with your system/DS clock instead of through Isabelle. First, match the in-game clock with your DS clock. Once it's at the same date, change the time to the next day through your DS clock. Open the game with your new character and look for the plot. If it's at the right spot, play until you can save and save. Otherwise, quit your game without saving and start another character. Repeat until it's at the right spot.
When you change the in-game clock through Isabelle, make sure that you don't change dates. Like, if you adopted Stitches in June 13:02, change the DS clock to June 14:02 so when you adjust the time, only an hour has passed from your last save.
I hope I got the question right and explained it properly.
You can only plot reset when you know if a villager is moving in.
So basically you can only plot reset villagers you've obtained from another person, as after you've asked them it'll take 1-2 days for their plot to appear in your town. So before playing as your mayor, you fast-forward your 3DS internal clock (not the new leaf clock) and then start up a new character on the day of the scheduled move in
The way above is fine but I don't like changing my 3DS clock around so I usually set my game to a few minutes before 6am the morning of a move-in (5:58am, whatever). Then just save and wait a few minutes until it's after 6 (so they will be setting up a plot), start a new character and off you go.
As others have said you can either change your 3DS clock or you can change it with Isabelle, but set it a couple minutes before 6AM and then immediately save and quit and then wait for it to change over then start with a new character. It does work.
