I was wondering what other people's experiences were with Nook Islands Campers and Campsite visitors' personalities, when compared to the overall make-up of your town.

I currently have four lazy villagers, and I can sort of see the impact it has on my campsite, but I have no reason to believe it affects the Islands.

I should mention, my campsite is VERY inactive, maybe one visitor a month (I TT). I'm also missing two personalities in my town, Snooty and Sisterly. Those are the only types of characters who show up to my campsite, but my islands still have Lazy villagers appear sometimes, despite me having four already, as well as other personalities I have.

It seems the islands prioritize a species which isnt on your island, which is why I found Bones after I already had 3 lazy characters, but no Dogs in my town?

Let me know your experiences, I have a feeling mine isn't unique!!!

Hi I have recently been posting about the species and personalities on islands that's backed up by data and stats testing, so I'd suggest looking there to get a good idea of how the islands work.

As far as your specific questions:
The islands roll for species first, each species has an equal chance of appearing. It then rolls for a villager in that species.
It does NOT roll for a personality specifically. The personality is determined when it picks a specific villager, but is not a determining factor of the one that is picked.
Lacking a personality or species will NOT increase the chances for that personality or species to appear on the islands. The same goes for having a personality or species, the chance is not decreased.
