Question about Mugworms

How do you get rid of Mugworms (the big flower that attracts flies) because my sister TT too much so now there is a MW! And I don't know how to get rid of it! Can somebody help me?

I believe you clean up your town, wait, wait, wait, and eventually you can dig it up if I remember correctly.

I was never able to dig it up, one day it will look withered and disappear soon.

No, you have to wait for it to die, but in ww I had one and shovels usually bounce off but one day I dug it up. c:
