Question about moving out a villager and having an open plot...

I TT’d to get someone in boxes to December 9th. My villager is now in boxes on December 10th. I want to go island hopping, but my birthday is December 11th so I’d prefer not to go forward. Can I TT back to the present and have an empty plot, or will it auto-fill?

I think it will auto-fill. Check here, it seemed like the best place for answers. Its a bit down the page for NH answers but still!

hello!! I ended up getting an answer!

so I had Erik in boxes on 12/10—traveled back to the present, 10/21 and he had moved out but his house was still there—on 10/22 there was an open plot. so it seems like if you go backwards, the villager will move out, but the plot won't open until you move forward.
