Hello!

I've been looking through the "Hold My Villager" thread on the New Neighbor Network and this question came to mind: how soon can I invite a villager from another island during early game?

If I were to restart and, for example, someone would hold on to Erik for me, would I have to wait and get my first six move ins (starter uchi and jock, then the three plots Nook asks you to fill, then smug villager from the campsite) and set the remaining plots to invite him back (which would take a few days) or could I invite him as my third, fourth or fifth villager?

I hope I phrased this well enough lol
I looked this up in a few places but wanted to confirm that here

Thanks in advance!

from what i went through i think you have to wait until after your smug villager has moved in TT i tried picking up sherb as my third move in from someone else’s island and it didn’t work OTL

aw man! I figured that was probably it, I hope you still managed to get Sherb back anyway!
