question about moving buildings?

really sorry if this isnt the right place for this thread! i’m still super new here so if there’s a thread specifically for faq i missed it :/ anyway my question is wrt moving my tailers building. i only wanted to move it slightly forward so it lines up with nooks cranny, but since the original building is still there, i can’t do that without the game telling me it will block traffic. do i have to move the building somewhere else completely before moving it back to where i actually want it? i don’t have a ton of money right now so if there’s any way to do this without spending 100k i’d appreciate knowing what it is

You have to move it somewhere else and then move it back if you want them to line up. You can’t place the new kit since the building is in the way.

Pretty much this. It's happened to me way too many times because I keep placing villager houses 1 tile off then have to relocate them twice (100k down the drain every time) just to move them 1 space, lol

highly suggest using patterns to mark where you want to move any of your buildings! it's saved me many times from placing things just ever so slightly off lol... good luck!
