Do I need a labtop to use the conection or do I just turn on the internet part of WW?

if the area you are in (McDonalds, Coffee Shop) has wireless internet all you need is the DS and the AC game

Yeah, you don't need a laptop to hook up, just your DS, ACWW, and a hotspot.
