So I want to hold Kiki in my cycling town for someone so at 8pm if I were to change the time back to 7am and then I would come back at 4pm the next day, would Kiki still be there? I'm pretty sure she would but I just want to clarify...

All you really need to do is even if the you leave it until the next day, when you load up the game, just set the time to the previous day and she will still be there. I've done it multiple times when I want to leave a villager until the next day. Or you could just set the time back before you leave for the day

I only know because I did it accidentally with Julian when I used to cycle before. Thought I'd try and load up on the previous day and he was still in boxes !
As long as you don't set it to 559 am the previous day or 659 am the next you will be good. This is how I hold my villagers for longer than a day. I have done this for about 2 years now. You can go past midnight and then reset to the previous day. My perfect time is setting it at 605 am the previous day because a lot of times I just don't have time to actually play only time to set my clock.
