Question about golden shovel

I hear there's a 1% chance of growing a bell tree by using this shovel. But can you plant 1k bells in hope for a regular sapling tree? Or will they just not grow at all

If you plant bells, there is a chance it will grow bells on the tree or it will be a regular tree.

The bigger amount of bells you bury, the better the chance it will grow into a money tree.

Trees (not matter what kind) will not grow if it falls under certain conditions such as being right next to buildings, PWPs, etc...; if there are too many trees in one area, or if one tree is grown surrounded by other saplings.

I will warn you that if you are looking to make money by harvesting money trees, look into the best amounts to plant and the rate of return. It makes it sound like it isn't worth it... Here's some additional reading: Money Trees

yes that is true, and i'm pretty sure the chance of that is bigger.
however, planted bell trees are not a very good profit, if that is what you are looking for. you would be better off selling turnips or selling tbt bells.

Bell trees don't make a very good profit because they're unreliable and you can only get 90k from them.
For every 1k bells, the chance of growing a money tree goes up by 1%. So if you bury 30k bells then you have a 30% chance of growing a money tree. Not really worth it unfortunately

But burying any amount of bells will always result in a tree. It's usually a regular tree though. :c

Also you can only plant one a day. If more are planted, they will grow into regular trees
