question about gold bars item (the size)

hey all! I have a quick question about how big/small the gold bar item is when placed in my house or around my island. Is it one space (the same size as a book for example) or three x three spaces, or something else? and can it be placed on a table? thanks!

Ankha has them in her house, and they're 1 space!
They should be able to be placed as well (since hers are).
