Question about getting the golden watering can

I time traveled so I'm a day behind real-time, so the Winter Solstice is happening right now for me. And I've been asking Isabelle everyday about my town rating, but she's not in the town hall today due to the event, and I can't speak to her normally when she's in town square.

So I was wondering, if I asked her tomorrow about my town, would that start my count back at one? Or would it resume at day 6? Do the counts happen consistently each day for the watering can, or does it count only every day that you ask her, as long as your town continues to rate as perfect each time in a row?

Aaah I really wish I knew how to word this better, sorry if my question is a little confusing.

No your count wouldn't restart at one. For every day that your town is perfect (whether you talk to her or not) it counts. It's just helpful to ask Isabelle because that way you're assured the town has remained perfect.

I am not sure if it will still work if you tt backwards or not. I tt'd forward one day at a time to get mine.
