Hello all, I didn't know what to google to read more about this so I thought it would be okay to ask. I have my new main town Mitten, which I am happily playing TT free, but they has freed my old cartridge up to create another new town if I wish. I've been curious about people having towns thay are just set to one day or week or month or season, who let that time period play out and then TT back again, over and over. What are the pros and cons? I will still be playing through the seasons in my main town, but I'm very tempted to freeze my potential new town sometime in autumn and just live in autumn there. Let me know if you have a town like this and what you've found! Thanks!! :)

oohh this is interesting. i almost want to do this with my town and just live in november - january, but i'll probably play through the whole year just to enjoy the seasons(maybe skip most of summer)

i feel like i'd get bored of it, maybe, but i love the orange/brown grass and when the snow flurries hit so much in game.

Once I get my town set up, I'll probably keep my town in Spring. My theme is going to be pink, white, purple, (maybe blue??) colors, so I kinda want to keep it in the spring/summer time.
My personal pro is the grass will always be green, not brown or snow covered/grey. Also my town, imo, will always be cute looking.
Con is when I have gone through the amount of months for spring and summer, I have to TT back. And I think if I do that, if I bought anything in a store on a specific day, it'll still be sold out. So thats kinda a con.

But hey, the price to pay for a pretty town. (';

I'm not seeing any cons, if youre okay missing events and seasonal shop items in that town. i would say before you time travel backwards though, make sure you have beautiful town ordinance passed and in effect so you dont get weeds or dead flowers, and make sure you've sold any turnips first....

Pros:
-Get to stay in your favourite season (I assume you'd keep it in your favourite season anyway)
-The aesthetic of that season
-Maybe get people who want to visit to be in that season to catch fish/bugs
-Not having to worry about other seasonal things
Cons:
-Missing out on seasonal events
-Time Travelling > Spoiled Turnips (unless you don't plan on buying turnips)
-Not being able to catch other seasonal bugs/fish

Those are the ones that come to mind for me anyway.

Honestly the only cons I could really think of are missing out on seasonal bugs/fish, some holidays, and items only available in the shops during certain times of the year. Personally I'd never freeze time in my town because I think I'd get bored, but if you want to I don't see why you shouldn't :)

I have the time frozen in Goblin (October, my favorite month) and in AHS (June, because I wanted azaleas and honeybees). I just set the time every day to remain on the same day. If I want to travel forward--or if I accidentally miss setting the clock in time--I just make sure nobody is trying to move out. If someone does ask to, I just deny their request, and then TT backwards however many days I wish.

My main town of Ruddyoak experiences all the seasons, though I'm way behind on it at the moment while I re-landscape. I just celebrated Toy Day yesterday, hahaha.

Thank you guys, this is really interesting! Yes, I plan on having beautiful ordinance in effect to save my flowers and I don't buy turnips anyway. Also, I have two DSs so I could always visit my main town Mitten to catch seasonal bugs and fish! Thank you for all the feedback, it's really helpful to know there wasn't really anything I hadn't considered!! I think I'll play september through to december to decide what time frame to stay inside (day, week, month etc) and choose exactly when! Thank you all so much!!
