question about dream addresses

so even though i've been playing this game forever i've never actually done anything with a dream address and i'm visiting my first one now.
Does the person set up their town as they wish in their dream, or is that what their town actually looks like?

It's what their town looks like.
or at least what it looked like when they last updated it.

It's pretty much a way to show off your town with out risking someone completely destroying it.

What their town actually looks like. Every time you go to update, it saves your town as is. When people visit your dream town, they can't damage or affect it in any permanent way.

The dream address is what their town actually looks like in that current moment of time, or when they last updated it. Hope this helps.

I recommend building the Dream Suite if you can. You're allowed to update your dream once a day and you're given 5,000 Bells for doing so!
